There Is Hope
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We at Earth Data want to encourage not only the awareness of this serious disease but encourage others to take steps toward prevention and treatment.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, there are about 1.4 million new cases of breast cancer each year. Almost 500,000 deaths each year are attributed to the disease. Prevention and treatment are crucial.
Most of us know someone who has had the shadow of breast cancer cast over their life. Giving the encouragement and support needed to help someone fight is a vital role anyone can play. But there are other steps to take to help a person take control of their health.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation has provided an easy to follow guide to lead through the stages of early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and education.
So, this month, remember to take control of your health and be proactive in keeping yourself cancer-free or seeking treatment to be healthy once again. Your family and friends will thank you. So will we.
