A Bird's-Eye View of Our Newest Equipment

Earth Data has expanded its core competencies with the recent addition of a new state-of-the-art DJI Matrice 210 RTK V2 drone. This new high-tech tool enhances Earth Data’s capacity to collect, analyze, manage, and distribute data in sophisticated new ways.

To supplement current GIS and mapping expertise, Earth Data will use its drone to provide aerial surveys and 3D point-cloud mapping. This technology enhances our ability to visualize and present data to our clients using 3D data and smart mapping. Our expertise is in presenting spatial and geographic data. We know data. Our new drone will help us know it even better.

The Matrice 210 RTK V2 drone is an advanced piece of equipment, but it still needs pilots and geospatial analysts to collect, analyze and manage the data. Earth Data currently has three FAA-certified drone pilots on staff and will be adding more in the coming weeks. In addition to being certified by the FAA as drone pilots, Jeff Chipman, Ted Trumbull, and Jackson Forrest recently received in-depth training to enhance their understanding of the complexity of using photogrammetry to produce accurate 3D maps. Their skills are a welcome addition to Earth Data’s present GIS and mapping capabilities.
