Earth Data Welcomes Eric Stille

Earth Data is pleased to announce that GIS Analyst Eric Stille has become part of its dedicated team of field-oriented groundwater, geospatial, and environmental consulting professionals.

He is a graduate of James Madison University, who earned his Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Science with a focus on Applied Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Originally he thought Intelligence Analysis would be his major and his career path, but he was hooked on GIS after exploring its uses, acknowledging that it, “It’s almost universal. You can use it in any field.” He will provide Earth Data with his expertise in GIS by creating Urban Tactical Planning (UTP) datasets for the U.S. Army Geospatial Center, one of Earth Data’s clients.

Eric is originally from Maryland and grew up near Washington DC. He has a love of the Bay and the Mid-Atlantic region that is even reflected in jobs he worked during his college days. An inveterate people watcher like Eric was once employed on a kid’s pirate ship that took its guest on excursions in the Annapolis area and as a bouncer in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Travel has become a recent hobby for Eric. In 2019, he spent a month in South America learning the customs and the language of native speakers. His experience in GIS mapping has fueled his passion and provided him a window into regions of the world he has yet to discover on foot.

His curiosity for exploration and interest in data is a perfect fit for a company focused on exploring the region and collecting data in sophisticated ways. With interests and skills like Eric’s, it’s easy to see why he is a welcome addition to the Earth Data team.
