Earth Data Hires Two Team Members
Mary Wakefield of Crownsville, Maryland, has been appointed Vice President of Water Resources at Earth Data, Inc. in Centreville, Maryland. In her new role, Wakefield oversees Earth Data’s field operations team, scheduling and permitting, writing and reviewing proposals, developing team processes and procedures, and managing budgets.
She previously worked at Earth Data as a geohydrologist and program manager. Since then, she has worked as a Program Manager at Shift5 in Rosslyn, Virginia, and as a Senior Project Manager at Launch! Consulting, Inc. in Charlottesville, Virginia. She has a bachelor’s degree in international relations with an emphasis in military affairs from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is attending the University of Maryland for graduate studies.
“I started my interest in hydrology – the study of water – while living in El Paso, TX. I learned about what a valued commodity water is there. While at Tulane University, I saw the negative impact of saltwater encroaching on freshwater plants in that area and how hurricanes affect our access to clean water,” Wakefield reflects.
“Earth Data has a very family feel to it. It is a comfortable, caring place to work. In my new role, I am excited for the opportunity to continue to build our team and expand our skillset to explore new business opportunities.”
Jackson Speary of Edenton, North Carolina, has been hired as a Field Geologist for Earth Data. In his new role, he performs fieldwork for Earth Data clients. He completed a bachelor’s degree in geology from The University of the South in Sewanee, TN.
“I am excited to grow my skills alongside a small, talented team,” Speary comments.
Mark Williams, President of Earth Data, Inc. shares, “We are excited to have these two new team members join us. Each brings an important skill set to our team and will help Earth Data as we tackle new projects in the coming months.”
