Jeff Chipman

Geologist

Jeff was born and raised in the dry red rock desert of Southern Utah. There he learned the importance of being outside enjoying the natural world and the need for responsible stewardship of water and all natural resources.

He graduated with a B.S. of Geology from Southern Utah University in the high desert mountain town of Cedar City, Utah. During his time in Cedar City, he became passionate about whitewater rafting and completed three trips through the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. He has also completed several other trips along the Green River and San Juan River. After graduation, he was involved in copper exploration so he could use his passion for rock and mineral collecting. There he again realized the importance of water resources, so he made a career change and moved to the East Coast to be part of the Environmental Consulting industry. He recently became one of Earth Data’s three FAA-certified drone pilots.

On the weekends he paddles the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and all of its tributaries.
