Any Season Is for Giving
Even though volunteering helps others, it most often helps the volunteers. Earth Data employees recently spent time helping CarePacks of Talbot County. In two hours, with the help of another volunteer group, we were able to pack 1,156 bags of food that will go home with students over the next four weekends. Though it doesn't solve the problem, it is a tangible help to those in need.
CarePacks is a weekend food program aimed at preventing hunger among Talbot County's most economically vulnerable students. They serve all Talbot County elementary schools. Their mission is to help students focus on academic success without being distracted by hunger or worry because they don't know where their next meal is coming from. That is a mission we are proud to support.
Volunteering didn't take long and our staff left with smiles on their faces. Everyone knew that the food packed into each bag would help an elementary school student in the community. Each small effort matters.
Earth Data gives. We want to encourage other companies and individuals to make helping our community a priority too. Though it may seem that we took time to help CarePacks and students in need, it made us appreciate what we have and think about how we are going to give back again.
